If you’re like me and you grew up going to church, it’s very likely that you’re familiar with the story of David and Goliath. And even if you didn’t grow up in church, it’s one of those Bible stories we all seem to know.

Well, in his book Goliath Must Fall, Louie Giglio takes this familiar Bible story and uses it to change the way we think about the giants in our lives. What are these giants? They’re things like fear, addiction, and anger. They’re the things that stand in our way when we try to follow God and trust His plans for us. They’re the voices in our heads  that speak lies instead of truth.

I don’t know about you, but those are struggles I face on a daily basis! I loved the powerful message of this book–it’s one of those where I felt like highlighting almost every passage. The story of David and Goliath isn’t just an old myth or hero story–it has power to show us just how strong Jesus is and how transformational faith in him can be.

I haven’t perfectly applied what I’ve learned from this book because I’m still digesting all the great things in it. If you’re looking for a book to liven up your quiet time or even to introduce you to Jesus and how he has conquered our giants, this is a great place to start!
