Watch for the Light was one of three books I read during this Advent season. It has a lot of great selections from influential writers. This book actually contains readings that extend from the last week of November to the first week of January, but in the interest of time, I finished it early.
If you’re looking for philosophical readings, poems, and other short works about Christmas, this is a great devotional. It would also make a wonderful Advent gift at the beginning of the season.
Because the posts are deep and philosophical, I don’t know that it will become an annual read like Russ Ramsey’s Behold the Lamb of God has. I can see myself referring back to the pieces in this book that meant the most to me. It would be good to keep on the coffee table if you need some Advent inspiration!
I hope that your shopping is done, the gifts are wrapped, and your heart is ready for Christmas. Check back tomorrow for my last Advent review, Russ Ramsey’s Behold the Lamb of God.
