For those of you keeping track, we have reached Week 31 of the year. I usually try to keep my reading on track with the week number, so I know I won’t run out of time. At this point I’ve only read 27 books, which puts me about 4 off the pace of one per week.
That’s why this week I’ve decided to muscle through two that have been sitting on my shelf for a while. The first is In the Heart of the Sea, a nonfiction book about the whaleship Essex. The second is Moby Dick, a fictional story based on the tragedy of the Essex. Moby Dick is one of those classics that I’ve started several times and never been able to finish. This time I am determined to get through it. The nonfiction book is really helping with that. It’s captured my interest, so hopefully I’ll be able to finish both this week. Reviews to follow!
